Tour Code: MK-087P

Day
A refined moment where simplicity reveals its brilliance — through tea, stillness, and purity.
Step away from the ordinary and immerse yourself in the stillness of a Zen temple.
> Introducing an exclusive Tea Ceremony Retreat at Ryosokuin, Kennin-ji Temple, presented by Suntory’s Japanese Craft Vodka, HAKU.
This journey celebrates the philosophy of HAKU—"Simplicity" and "Brilliance"—blending seamlessly with the spirit of the Tea Ceremony, an art of refining the mind by stripping away the unnecessary. Under the guidance of a professional tea master, you will gently awaken and sharpen your five senses.
The experience features walking meditation, the traditional art of tea preparation, and a grand finale: a signature matcha cocktail—a bespoke fusion of Matcha and HAKU vodka handcrafted by the master himself—served within a private, restricted-access tea room.
This is more than a tasting or a tour; it is a quintessential Kyoto "Tea Retreat" designed to refine your inner sensibilities. Discover a moment of profound serenity available only through this exclusive program.

Where Simplicity Becomes Brilliance
This is not an experience designed to overwhelm.
Instead, it offers a quiet, deeply moving, and honest moment.
By reducing sound, movement, and expectation,
what remains is clarity.
Within that simplicity,
brilliance naturally emerges —
not something added,
but something revealed.
The Philosophy of HAKU — Simplicity, Refined into Brilliance
HAKU is built on two essential values: Simplicity and Brilliance.
In Japanese aesthetics, simplicity is not the absence of emotion.
It is the discipline of removing what distracts,
so that what truly matters can shine.
This retreat follows that philosophy.
By refining movement, sound, and intention to their essence,
the experience creates space for brilliance to emerge —
quiet, restrained, and deeply moving.
The result is not fleeting excitement,
but a lasting emotional resonance.
A Carefully Composed Experience
The experience unfolds under the quiet guidance of a tea practitioner,
within the gardens and tea spaces of a Zen temple.
Rather than instruction,
the tea, the movements, and the surrounding stillness
serve as anchors for attention.
As you move between garden, tea room, and silence,
distractions fall away,
allowing simplicity to sharpen perception
and brilliance to be felt — not explained.
Ryosokuin Temple — A Place of Rare Stillness
The retreat takes place at Ryosokuin,
a sub-temple of Kennin-ji — Kyoto’s oldest Zen temple.
Ryosokuin is not generally open to the public.
It is a place traditionally reserved for contemplation,
where architecture, garden, and ritual remain untouched by time.
To experience stillness in such a setting
is not a privilege that can be replicated elsewhere.
