Arriving at Fukuoka Airport

Make your own way to your hotel Grand Hyatt Fukuoka by taxi (approx. $12 - $15) or Airport Limousine Bus (Hearts Airport Bus), we will provide full instructions in advance.

PM: Take a Kyushu Shinkansen（Bullet Train）from Hakata Station to Kagoshima-Chuo Staion.

10:30AM: Arrive at the Sakurajima Ferry Terminal and take the ferry to Sakurajima.

11:20: Land on Sakurajima for exploration.
Sakurajima, an active stratovolcano in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan, offers a unique destination for exploration and adventure. Known for its frequent eruptions and stunning landscapes, the volcano provides breathtaking views of lava fields, black sand beaches, and lush greenery that has adapted to the volcanic environment.

12:00PM: Kakuida Japanese Black Vinegar Fields Tour (Lunch)

2:00PM: Depart from Kagoshima Airport for Yakushima Airport.

3:15PM: Arrive at Yakushima Airport and transfer to the hotel.

4:30PM: Yakushima Environmental Culture Center.

Morning: Departure from the hotel.

Visit Nagata Inaka Beach (famous sea turtle nesting site), Oko-no-taki Waterfall

Trekking in Yakusugi Land (5–6 hours, fitness level: ★★★, 5.5 km).

Yakusugi Land, located on Yakushima Island, is a breathtaking forest reserve famous for its ancient Yakusugi cedar trees, some of which are over 1,000 years old. This lush, moss-covered wonderland offers an immersive trekking experience through a primeval forest that feels untouched by time.

The area features well-maintained trails of varying difficulty, ranging from short 30-minute walks to more challenging full-day hikes. Along the way, trekkers can admire towering cedar giants like the Buddha-sugi and Higechoro-sugi, cross wooden bridges over crystal-clear streams, and experience the island’s mystical atmosphere, often enhanced by drifting mists and vibrant greenery.

With its rich biodiversity, including rare flora and fauna, Yakusugi Land provides an unforgettable adventure for nature lovers, photographers, and those seeking a deep connection with Japan’s ancient wilderness.

8:30AM–12:00PM: Kayaking in the Kurio River mangrove area.
The Kurio River is the only river in Yakushima where mangroves remain, and the water is exceptionally clear. Once you are ready, you will start kayaking from downstream, where salt water and freshwater mix.

Visit Yakushima Bless/Takeda-kan (local products).

3:30PM: Arrive at Miyanoura Port.

4:00PM: Take a high-speed ferry to Ibusuki.

5:30PM: Arrive at Ibusuki Port, check in at the hotel, and enjoy sand bath hot springs.

Morning check-out and departure.

Tour Satsuma Denshokan Museum

Visit Hombo Shuzo Co.Mars Tsunuki Distillery, the southern most whisky distillery on the main Japanese islands for lunch and Japanese whiskey tasting.

The Chiran Samurai Residence Complex is designated as an "Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings" by the Japanese government, and the seven gardens (open to public) are officially recognised as a "National Scenic Beauty" spot.

Among the seven gardens which are open to public, the garden of the Mori family is the only one built in the "Tsukiyama Sensui" style, with rocks laid out to represent the mountain, and an actual pond filled with water.

The other six gardens are built in the "Karesansui" (dry garden) style, using Shirasu (pumice and volcanic ash commonly found in the south Kyushu region) spread out across the garden grounds to represent water surface. The use of Shirasu in Karesansui style gardens is unique to Chiran.

Evening: Check-in at the hotel, followed by dinner. Enjoy Kagoshima Black Wagyu Beef steamed dish.

Morning, hotel check-out and transfer to Kagoshima Airport. Take Domestic flight from Kagoshima Airport to Osaka Itami Airport.
