Trekking in Yakusugi Land (5–6 hours, fitness level: ★★★, 5.5 km).
Yakusugi Land, is a breathtaking forest reserve famous for its ancient Yakusugi cedar trees, some of which are over 1,000 years old. This lush, moss-covered wonderland offers an immersive trekking experience through a primeval forest that feels untouched by time.
The area features well-maintained trails of varying difficulty, ranging from short 30-minute walks to more challenging full-day hikes. Along the way, trekkers can admire towering cedar giants like the Buddha-sugi and Higechoro-sugi, cross wooden bridges over crystal-clear streams, and experience the island’s mystical atmosphere, often enhanced by drifting mists and vibrant greenery.
With its rich biodiversity, including rare flora and fauna, Yakusugi Land provides an unforgettable adventure for nature lovers, photographers, and those seeking a deep connection with Japan’s ancient wilderness.
Jomon Sugi Trek: Hike to the iconic Jomon Sugi, a giant cedar tree estimated to be thousands of years old. This is a challenging but rewarding trek that takes a full day.
Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine: Explore the beautiful Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine, a lush forest with moss-covered rocks and crystal-clear streams. This area is known for its mystical atmosphere and is said to have inspired the Studio Ghibli film "Princess Mononoke."
Evening return to the hotel and dinner.

8:30AM–12:00PM: Kayaking in the Kurio River mangrove area.
The Kurio River is the only river in Yakushima where mangroves remain, and the water is exceptionally clear. Once you are ready, you will start kayaking from downstream, where salt water and freshwater mix.
PM: Departing Yakushima

Entrance fees provide cost efficiency by only paying for what you use.

We require a non-refundable US$300 deposit per person to hold the space at the time of booking.

Kayaking, Canyoning & Shower Climbing: Challenge yourself with canyoning or shower climbing, where you'll navigate through rivers and waterfalls using ropes and other equipment. This is a thrilling activity for adventurous travelers.
Snorkeling & Diving: Discover the underwater world around Yakushima Island. The clear waters offer excellent visibility, and you can see a variety of marine life.
