Finding your Inner Artist and Inner Peace

KAI Sengokuhara, located in the popular hot springs resort in Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, is an artistic outlet nestled between the mountains and the sea offering guests the chance to spark their creativity while indulging in high relaxation, as well as explore the many museums and nature spots surrounding the premises.

Three Unique Aspects of KAI Sengokuhara

  1. Every guestroom features a private hot spring bath, for luxurious indulgence without interruption.

  2. The artwork decorating the halls and rooms was made exclusively for KAI Sengokuhara by artists inspired by the local area, enhancing the ryokan’s unique sense of place.

  3. The Atelier Library is arranged with artwork and painting materials for guests to use freely during their stay, and creative workshops are held daily.

Rooms

Every room at KAI Sengokuhara is Japanese-style and features a private outdoor bath immersed in the nature surrounding the ryokan. In addition, artwork made by local artisans during a visit to the property is displayed in the guestrooms, echoing the fusion between nature and the arts unique to Sengokuhara.

KAI Local Flavors

The preparation and presentation of every dish is carried out with the upmost care to highlight the inner art of each cuisine. The Kaiseki course dinners consist of local seafood and meat in a reflection of the ryokan’s proximity to both the mountains and the ocean. The starter includes an arrangement of fast-smoked salmon and fruit, while the main dish features the regional delicacies of beef and abalone, grilled on stones heated to 200°C.

Hot Spring

The milky-white hot spring waters utilized in the baths at KAI Sengokuhara are sourced from the Owakudani volcanic valley and are known for their antibacterial qualities. With two indoor baths and one outdoor bath in each hall featuring different temperatures, guests can choose their preferred style of relaxation.

KAI Cultural Discovery

Every KAI establishment offers a selection of free activities designed to introduce guests to Japan's regional

cultures. At KAI Sengokuhara, activities provide guests with a creative outlet, such as the “Colorful Tenugui” workshop where you can sketch an original design on a traditional tenugui washcloth and enjoy the freedom of artistic expression.
